Junkyard OHC Removal

What tools do I need to remove the OHC console if I happen to find one in an explorer on my trip?

How do I uninstall it also? I know this is very general, I have looked around and I will keep trying to read up but I'm not finding much. Also how would I remove the temperature sensor?

Thanks everyone.

depends..some use a phillips head..some use a torque..some use a square drive and some use a hex head...i would just bring them all..and some wire strippers or something to cut the wire harness..your basicly going to push the garage door button and the there will be a few screws to take down the OHC.Then there are some that hold the bracket in place...make sure u cut the harness all the way down the Pillar so ur wire harness will be Long..making it easier to wire up...While ur there..Pocket some extra wiring. To remove the Temp sensor is easy..just look under the front bumper and you will see it near the radiator..Just snip the wires going to it..

if its a model with the sun roof, just grab the front of it and pull down. It will pull right out. Then you can unscrew the bracket. If its a model with out the sun roof, unscrew the 2 bolts in the garage door opener compartment, then grab the front and pull down. Then unscrew the bracket.

As for the temp sensor. EVERY EXPLORER HAS ONE, whether it has an OHC/HVAC. it is under the drivers side head light. It has a blue/white and a blue/yellow wire comming out of it. If you can find one, hit me up i have a couple spares.

Its right below the headlight in a hole in the header panel. Its off cause of my crappy wiring connections, which I fixed the other day thank you very much.
