any way to "lift" the seats?
hi...for my project, i need a 1/2" to 1" lift in my seat....or...my seat needs to be higher by that much
i was wondering of a good way to do this....
could i just use some washers, stack them up to the desired height, and put the bolt thru them and into the floor?
this a good idea?

With long enough bolts, and using some lock washers, perhaps. My concern would be stability. I'd almost rather do something like a massive rubber washer or something.. Like an inche or two thick, kinda like a hockey puck. Tough call really.. Maybe with a thicker bolt, sure.. I dunno. I'd probably get a few more opnions. :)

Maybe weld an over sized nut to the bottom of the seat, and even still thats not the best idea either.
I wish my seat was lower in the back, just the back, that would be way better on my knees.

you could hunt down a electric seat track from a linclon or something and fab it up to the ranger seat and that has 3 axis movement up/down front/back and tilt as in front high back low and vise versa
Your bloody kidding right sorry kase

Hey, don't make fun of pillow users!! I had one too, Kasey. I like to sit higher in the seat so I can look down across the hood. Never liked the slung-back, lowrider seat position. My Exploder has power seats, and I can actually tilt them up a little so I sit in the right position.

My father raised the seats in his '04 TJ Wrangler. He had a ~'90 YJ that he traded for the new Jeep. The old one had a very high seat, like a pickup. The new one's seat was far far lower to the floor. He wasn't happy. So he added spacers cut from ~3/8" ID pipe and longer bolts. I think he put 3/4" of pipe under each of the four bolts. It did wonders! The seating position is a million times better now.
That said, I'm not sure it would fly in a Ranger. The Ranger seats mount from above in the rear, where you could add spacers fairly easily. But the front bolts go in horizontally, into a bump in the floor-pan. Putting spacers there would cause the seat to move forward, not up. Also putting spacers in the back might put the seat bracket into a weird angle such that the front mounts might not mount properly. That would also angle the seat effectively 'dumping' you forward. Not sure that's what you're after.
I suspect that re-working the mounting bracket might be the only way!
