mod day #1 - Interior - 60/40 seats conversion *UPDATED*
Day 1, interior.....modifying the 60/40 seats to 40/40 bucket seats...
The drivers 60/40 seat, as it is stock...uugghhh
First, I removed the arm rest console. Pretty simple, pry off the plastic guard, then loosen the bolts that holds it together...
Then peeled back the foam and seat cover to expose what I have to work with....
Reveals a tubular frame that needs to be removed....
Using a hacksaw, I cut both posts close to the weld spots, makes for a cleaner look and easier cut....
Now that the part is removed from the frame. Very clean cuts.
After that, I have to cut and remove the foam part of the seat that I won't be needing anymore...I did leave extra so I didn't cut more than I wanted...then I can trim it to where its perfect.
I did a little shortcut, the easy way...using tie straps through the fabric to keep it down and hold it place. (I suck at sewing, hence the shortcut)...besides....seat covers come in tommorrow...
Here's the finished product....voila!
Must be my lucky day....found a loonie wedged in the seat as I was working on the project....
Very lucky indeed....project went well with out a hitch.....took 30 minutes....bolted the seat back in and that's it.
More mods and additional pics tommorrow.....STAY TUNED!
