led cluster conversion

im just trying to get some opinions on which color leds you feel look the best in a ranger, i am going to do the cluster and the hvac panel. I was originally aiming toward blue, but after viewing some photos red and white dont look all that bad either. some help would definally be appreciated.

IMHO… blue doesn’t look too bad after removing the green off of the back of the panels but most other colors look a little washed out.
If your gauges are now green, once the coloring is removed you are left with a translucent white color, when either LEDs or paint is applied the color is washed out some. RED and White = Pink, Purple and white = light purple, etc.
I would buy new gauge faces in the color face & numerals you want and be done with it.
The final piece will look better and maybe more even in color too.

I tried the red, didn’t work for me so I purchased new gauge faces, now it looks the way I want.

luck,

You should always sand the filtering paint from the back of the faces regardless which color you use.

Check my threads for LED cluster conversions that look brighter, more even, more vivid and more colorful than any OEM LED cluster.

The white faced gauges tend to be more clear than the black faced gauges so the color is more true.
