So I got a mustang dome, i got it with the pig tail. 2 wires are obvious, what's the 3rd go to... My trucks an 02.

take the pigtail off and throw it in the trash then bolt it in lol...i didn't know you were talking about the pigtail when you messaged me

when u take your stock dome light off there will be 2 wires on your roof which power from which power gets transferred to the light itself from the screws that hold it in.

 

^^^^ this, it should just bolt in. Mine did and works like a champ.
