Added a Carpet, W/Pics

I know the vinyl flooring is nice for cleaning and if you offroad a lot, but since I don't and I like carpeting, I decided to add one. I pulled it out of an 01 XLT at the JY, then vacuumed out the glass and big dirt, pressure washed it, and let it dry, or at least get more dry overnight. I just installed it this morning. Now for the pics:

I placed the carpet right over the vinyl. So at least if the carpet becomes a pain, I can remove it and still have the original flooring.

That looks pretty sweet! I like the idea of having carpet in my truck, but not when I go to clean it. Over time it will also show wear. that's the main reason I haven't and probably wont do it. It looks great though.

Well, in which case I remove it, and I still have the vinyl

it looks really good, i just wouldnt do it in my case cause when we take the truck offroad its so easy to clean the inside, plus i dont really have to worry about spilling things or burning anything easily.

looks really good tho, alot better

looks good. i'd do the same if i could find a carpet in good enough shape.

have you noticed any difference in sound while driving? seems like the carpet would keep the road noise out a little better than our vinyl floors do.

The ride is quieter with the carpet. Granted, I now have two floorings in the cab now, but it is considerably quiet. The vinyl seemed to amplify the road noise to an extent.

hmm that sounds like a reasonable mod, i may have to try that in the future. what did the carpet run you price wise?

that's what i was hoping to hear... i hate how noisey our trucks are inside. if i were to find a carpet, i'd do the same exact thing... lay it right over the vinyl.. that way, later down the road.. if the carpet ever gets destroyed.... i can rip it out and still have a floor

I purchased the carpet, an XLT brake light, F-150 dome light, and a fog light switch and harness all for $80. The same guy had another graphite grey carpet in an extended cab (not four door) with the only visible damage I could see is a rust stain in the back hump. Granted, this should come out if spot treated. The carpet I installed is not spotless by any means, but after pressure washing it with soap meant for a car, it got the vast majority of dirt out of it. If I scrubbed it with carpet cleaner I bet I could get it spotless, but that's not my objective.
