not sure about sem adhesion promoter, but any parts store will have duplicolor brand. Its clear so I wouldn't call it a primer.

I took the dash apart to do mine, that really is the right way. I do painting for people when I'm home from school. I used the dupli color adhesion promoter and it has worked great so far. Dries real fast, I usually do 3-4 coats of it though, since it is clear and hard to see how well the coverage is. It is very thin and will run, so go lightly.

Are you talking about this stuff? Click Here

You can find that stuff at any auto store. As far as the cloth, I'm not sure what the type of material is normally used.

You dont HAVE to. You can mask everything off.

Not sure what your trying to do. If you're gonna fiberglass the dash to make it smooth, take it out of the truck for sure. Fiberglassing would be a chore in or out of the truck.

No sorry I wasnt more clear on my application here just trying to keep my idea under wraps , but anywho , the fiberglas is going to be used in conjunction with the center console I made , primarely to make a little bt intricate peices that could not be made off MDF

NO im not taking the dash out im going to mask everything I dont have the time to prep , pull , paint , let the paint cure then reinstall .
Unless you can drive the truck without dash is that feasable?

fun stuff, dupli color adhesion promoter is one of the best. then use SEM quality interior paints they actually stain and adhere to the plastic/fabric unlike most others, it sells for 12 a can. I used 12 cans on my interior.

No clear coat is needed.
No Primer is needed, use duplicolor adhesion promoter, do like 3-4 thin coats within 2-3 min of each other wait 10-15 min and apply your first thin coat of SEM, lots of thin coats are the key, dont rush it.

SEM can be bought at www.eastwood.com

Just to answer another one of your questions about the Fiberglass or Poly-Resin. You can pick it up at Lowe's or the Home Depot. I'm sure that ACE would have it, too. Hope that helps.

open the glovebox, under neath that are 4 bolts take those out and the air bag and whole front panel will slide out. make sure to unplug it.
