Fixing console

So i bought the only console i could find in the area, i went to clean it today and noticed one spot that is a slightly different color. So i peeled off the paint that was there and it was covering 6 holes where the previous owner had something mounted, and i guess they didnt predrill because theres small cracks around the holes... Anyways, anyone know the best way to fix this? i suppose i could just use glue and repaint but anyone know of anything better?

Orielly and Autozone have this plastic weld stuff. you could put on there then sand it down and paint over it.

They make some stuff that looks like epoxy(two separate materials in a syringe type thingy)that you can sand and paint. Autoparts store should have it.

That was the stuff I was talking about

They have a 1 minute dry one and a 5 minute dry one. Suggest the 5 minute.

I used the 1 minute and it started drying before I could apply it. Made it hard to work with

i would make a plastic sluge out of acetone and pvc shavings, heres the write up i used,

1. heres all the tools youll need, make sure the pipe you use is ABS plastic not PVC

2. making abs shavings took several attempts the drill worked best...i have actually used my router cut the pipe long ways and run the router down the side a few times

3. put it in a bottle those cheap ones at walmart.. for ketchup or mustard.. then add acetone not much at all as it melts the abs you get a type of glue.. for welding abs to abs.... when you apply it the acetone melts both surfaces but when it evaporates it only leaves abs so you now have a solid piece of abs welded together get it?

you just squirt it where you want it like glue... no you can't use a brush it will just get messy.. and the consitancy depends on how much acetone you put in in.. I wouldn't suggest a very watery mixture then your sludge will just fall bewteeen the cracks.. I make it about the consistancy of.. I can't think.. a little thinner than honey.. that way it sticks where you want it to..

sorry to jack your thread just thought this would a better way to acheive the results your looking for instead of haveing to redo it an a few years
