Seat mod?

Would it be hard to mod my driver side seat so it'll sit back farther?
I'm 6'9" tall, and don't have as much leg room as I'd like, knees are bent farther then is much comfortable.
Anyways, how would I go about doing this?

p.s. Can we keep the tall jokes to a minimum?

You might be able to add to the track to longer seat travel. I have never seen it done. Also the Ranger is a mini truck extended cab or not.

I'm very aware of this, that's why I said "at least it's extended cab"

And would it be a booger to add to the track? I'll be lookin into this.

You have to have fabbing skills. I know I wouldn't be able to do something like that. I suggested the idea because I remember someone saying it.

i dont see why you wouldnt be able to, since it is extended cab you got more room to work with. just look and see how it works and what you think would need to be done to extend the track. you possibly will need the track off another seat to add on to the one you have. but thats what i would do if i was in your situation.

imo i wud unbolt the seats move back to desired length then run new bolt might need a lil bit of drilling and sum bolts but alot better then welding the hel out of the railings which might not work when done in the first place im 6'2 in my std cab and im not comfy but i deal with it lol

Well you've got an FX4, so that woudl be an extended cab...

You may look into unbolting your seats and flipping them upside down.. take a look at the slider bar on the seat itself.. perhaps drill out the rivets, replace them with some grade 8 bolts.. and move everything back 1 bolt; drill 1 more hoel to make up for the lost one and bolt it back up. Thats just a rough though, I havent actually checked to see if you'll run into clearance problems.. its pretty open under the seat; just watch out for the airbag sensor thingy plug under there.

x2, the other ideas will take more time and fabrication knowledge

Looks like I'll be searching for help..... I have a good friend in Ohio who's an awesome mechanic. I think he's sick of helping me though. He always worked on my 93 xlt.
But maybe modding is more his thing, beats working on a clunker aye?

Or like on Short Circuit. Rip the whole seat out like Johnny 5.
