First off I apologize if this is the incorrect place to post this or if i'm on the wrong forum completely, I'm new to Rangers/B-series trucks.

I just bought a 96 Mazda B3000 SE 2wd and my driver seat won't slide forward past a certain point and it's very uncomfortable to drive, while this is probably an easy fix with a spring or something I want to possibly swap the nice leather power adjusting front seats from my 94 Grand Cherokee Limited with maybe an Explorer center console OR use the rear bench seat. I've spent quite a bit of time looking around online but haven't found anything on this exact swap and haven't really had a chance to get in the truck to see what I'm working with. What sort of modification/fabrication would be needed and how would I go about wiring for power to the seats? Should I just pay a shop to do it for me? Any advice would be appreciated!

 

Odds are, you will need to make a hybrid seat track to bolt to your floor and to the seat. You may lose power functions of the seats by doing this swap. Have you considered using seats out of an explorer? If you're an extended cab, it's basically a bolt in/wire up affair.

 

Thanks for the reply Dewey. That's what I was afraid of. What model year Explorers could I expect to be most compatible or is it more or less universal?

 

Assuming you are an extended cab, I believe that it's 96-01 explorers and up to 2005 sport tracs.
