Steering wheel interchangability

So I am getting ready to do the cruise control mod and as I was junk yard surfing I found a steering wheel with air bag and cruise in an 04ish explorer. It looks cooler than my wheel and I can get it all for cheap. Will it fit?? I can get the clock spring and all that for it and dont mind doing a little wiring. Has anyone tried this before??

here is the wheel I am talking about

it might work. if its cheap the best wayto know its to buy it and find out.. ive seen a guy who had an f150 wheel on his ranger.

So long as the splines line up I can make the rest work. I can make a clockspring do whatever I want and the airbag can be left unhooked and then just bridge the plug on the truck so it sees a connection

I have the harness plug in mine, So I am just gonna get as much explorer wiring as I need and then scavenge the wiring harness out of a 2000 ranger also and blend them if needed. Although I doubt there will be much to blend together. Odds are they are very similar

If the rear diff is still there take the diff cover. They are worth a pretty penny here cause they fit 8.8s and look cool as hell.

Rear diff is there but I dont think I wanna bother getting it off as the thing is sitting on the axles. I dont think I can even get to some of the bolts

Actually the rear diff cover is completely off that piece of $hit, just stuck in there because I can't get to the drive shaft bolts. Actually the entire diff is loose, being held in by the axles and drive shaft. I got everything loose with a 3/8 rachet set lol. Look at it next time your up. I need to ask to get it picked up by the loader so I can get the the shaft bolts or something. That cover is mine thought, hands off lol.

As for the steering wheel, I have no worthwhile information.

Maybe I am missing something here, but why do you need to get to the drive shaft bolts (u-joints?) to take a cover off? I thought it was just 8-10 rear facing bolts.

Cause its an independent rear end the diff cover has a forward brace that links it to the body. If and when BB2 gets that driveshaft off he can pull that whole 3rd member backwards and be able to get to that upper mount. Its a smart set up and wouldnt be bad to work on minus the idea that the exploder is sitting without wheels on it
