Tilt Lever - Aluminum - Broken
I purchased a Tilt Lever, the aluminum one, looked great but it broke at the end of the threads after 6 months of use.
Now what ?
I made a new lever using the Head of the Alum piece and a 3” x ¼” gr-8 bolt.
cut the head off of the Alum unit, drilled and tapped it for ¼-20 and mod the bolt to fit the thread and the length I wanted.
Also you need to tap the steering column mounting point for ¼ x 20 or find a 12-24 bolt to make the replacement lever out of; not easy to locate around here.
Works great and I do not think it will break again.
No pics yet but will try to get some tomorrow.
