Gauge Pod Options for Rangers

Pods:

I added some instrumentation to keep an eye on things with the supercharger. Here are the part numbers in case anyone is interested.
  • Autometer 15308: Dual A-pillar pod (also available as a single 15309)
  • Autometer 15004: F150 Steering Column pod (requires minor trimming to clear the cluster bezel on a 95+ Ranger, fits automatic only)
  • NewSouth Performance triple POD-004: Triple dash pod (requires base trimming to match dash contour. Available as 1, 2 or 3 gauge pods, angled left or right.)
All of the pods above are set up to accept 2 1/16" gauges.

The pillar and column pods are the easiest to install and can easily be reversed if desired. The triple on the dash requires a higher level of commitment since holes have to be drilled through the dash to mount it.

Gauges:
  • Autometer 4357: Transmission Oil Temperature
  • Autometer 4348: Engine Oil Temperature
  • Autometer 4378: Air/Fuel Ratio - Wide band
  • Autometer 4344: Exhaust Gas Temperature (Pyrometer)
  • Autometer 4301: Vacuum/Boost
  • Autometer 4363: Fuel Pressure

All of these pods and gauges are from www.egauges.com.

Looks awesome didn't know you had a supercharger.

Do you have to have a pilots license to drive your truck. Looks like a airplane cockpit in there. Very nice interior

Great post Bob! I need a gauge pod for oil pressure, the scan gauge handles the rest.

Wow, there in my mind is nothing that compares to this truck. I sure hope you never sell this thing with all of the time, effort, and money in it. Somehow your truck and all of its stuff makes a SAS seem easier, lol. That is in no way to degrade the effort in a SAS, but I am just so impressed with your success and I still wonder how many extra relays and miles of wire you have added, as well as where is it, lol.

Not that I've ever seen but you should be able to get color matched interior paint.

Didn’t see this, looks good as all of your projects do.
Are you installing V-8s yet or at leasat wiring them up; you would be good at it !

The light (I think) above the bottom meter, is that a indicator light for low oil pressure ?
I have a buch of digital gauges I want to add to my dash someday and they all have provisions for indicator warning lights but not sure what to do with them or the best placement.

I made notes on the triple and pillar pods, thks.

That's a small toggle switch I installed when I did the pillar pod gauges. The night backlighting in all of the added gauges can be turned off if desired, independent of the stock cluster and dash lighting. I use it once in awhile.

For oil pressure, I have a Sonalert that beeps if the pressure goes low. That's in addition to the factory 'Check Gage' light.

I have an extra pressure switch i will be adding to the oil line for a warning light buzzer, not sure what current comes out of the gauges and if it will handle the buzzer instead of a light.
I will need to check that before using the pressure unless I use the pressure sw for a pressure up before start setup.

I guess all of the extra light can get in the way sometimes, a switch is a good option.

What other oddd add-ons do you have lurking under that hood ?
You always come up with great projects; I will be busy for the next year ot two just catching up !

ltr/great work.
