Worked on the Interior a little today

Changed the 60/40 to Bucket Seats.
First pic of the interior still need clean up but there is tomorrow.
The 60/40 Split Seat Slider Frames just unbolted and bolted up to the Bucket Seats, I did not expect it to work out so easy.
Time was all that it took and if you this and take the backs off first then the Slider Frame and reverse it for reassembly it wil go faster for you.
The Center Console is not mounted yet, maybe tomorrow when the new carpet goes in and I need to get the Arm Rest re-covered dark gray.
I found the Console in the JY with the Nylon Bag, got two bags, one will be for my Camera and a lens or two and the other will be general stuff, put in the one I need.

The FX4 Shifter Boot and Bezel is for the up coming Manual T/C Swap.

While things were apart I added these…

Found these in the JY and tried them out in the truck, I think they have a little beter sound, maybe just me.

Tomorrow I will take the interior apart and add the new Carpet along with some sound deadening material.
then tackle the Cluster Lighting and the new Lighting for the *****.

The Shifter started as a std hurst conversion, Ididn’t like the Stick i received so I ordered a different stick ($28 off the Web) this stick was taller and more of a bend backwards and it bent in towards the driver more but it needed something more, made an adapter to raise 1” and move backwards 1” that worked so far.

The *-Ball was a find too on ebay.
When the manual t/c gets in I have the original Hurst shift to make a matching set.

All a work in process.

Someone else on the site has done it and I saw his pic of it and thought the same thing.

i don’t know, the plug was down on the one I took out so I did the plug down on these.
Plug down mean no water in connector but you could be right.

OK so the tweeter goes on top… i would think the connector in the back of the speaker would be n the bottom to prevent water from getting in.

more input please.

Yeah the tweeter goes on top for the best sound. Kinda like when people mount separate tweeters they mount them as high as possible.

To all, thanks for the tweeter thing, I had no idea.

Now on to the new carpet.

Not all of us can pull off carrying a purse like you can. :P The setup looks good what are those seats out of? You're going to love the twin sticks, I love mine. Its the best mod I've done hands down. I do kind of hate my FX4 shifter but I don't feel like spending the money on a Hurst.

I don't know if you're adding new carpet because your old stuff is junk or because of the Level II shifter bezel hole. I just cut a piece of flooring and shoved it in the hole under the carpet.

Won’t even go there… LoL !
I got two of the bags, one for each hand, I will be for the everyday stuff and one for my camera and two lens.
I will just switch them depending on my day…
If you happen to have a Dark Gray/Black Center Console I will swap with you ?

thats my setup you'll have to excuse the dirt that was just after finishing up the twin stick install. I got lucky and found a wrecked FX4 with Mint condition buckets and this console. I grabbed them all for $100. You can still see the little hole behind my shifter bezel. Thats before I cut a piece of spare rubber flooring I had from my console install and tucked it under the flooring to fill the hole. Now the hole is pretty invisible. If I'd glue the flooring together it would be 99% invisible.
I know you're looking for a Black console. If I come across one for a fair price I'll grab it for you. That way I'll have trading stock for that Level II speed sensor you may end up getting your hands on.

I would have to go back and see, too many purchases going on these days.

I do remember all I did was searched on the web, bought the same one that Jag and Range Rover/FORD was using as OEM.

I will try to get the manufacturer for you.

Has anyone ever moved their shorty center console back some ?
I need a little more room in front of the console for my 10/11/12 Meter AM Radio.

I can see where the front mount can be adjusted backward by using a plate but how about the rear mount, the upright main support ? the bottom of the console can be cut to contour to the floor so the only biggy is the Upright rear support.

Thanks.

Pic to come - Camera in truck.

I Put in the Fat Mat, the new Carpet and the Cubbie under the Heater Controls.
Made my first cut to move the Center console back about three inches (for my 10/1/12 meter Radio); if this works out I may get a Std Center Console and nod it instead of the Bg Type that I now have.
Ordered the new Driver’s Seat Cover, OEM, waiting for the Seat Cover Before adding the Heaters to that seat.
Put the Harness and control box in place on the passenger seat for the heater, not a lot of area under the seats for the control to attach to.

Put it all together and took the first ride, WOW, BIG chg in noise level, almost what noise, even the trans quieted down so much I can hear just a little more than the gears click which I shift.

Installed the “Alon MAG-Lite Mount” on the Driver’s Seat, nice.

Cluster to be installed today or tomorrow, RED LEDs and no tach, Top of Dash TAch coming soon.

Pics will come.

btm757,
No luck in locating the supplier of the Seat Heaters, the box didn’t have anything on it except “Box 1”, ,must have come in another box or something.
Search for OEM Seat Heaters and see what you get.
ltr,

OK here are a few pics of the interior / Fat Mat Install.

Getting started:

Up the back Wall and in the corners too:

Size: 62.8 KB

This one show the Fat Mat but also the red and white wires in the corner, these are the OHC power wires. I installed Switches instead of the Digital Readout. they will go to a power distribution panel being built to be placed behind the seats.

Name: IMG_0010.jpg
Views: 176
Size: 48.3 KB

The Carpets turn to get laid… still had a lot of holes to work on.
Yes that is an FX4 Shifter Bezel and RCM Cover, before you ask, manual T/C on the way.

Name: IMG_0012-1.jpg
Views: 178
Size: 51.6 KB

The middle wires are the iPod adapter and the 3.5mm Audio Plug.

Name: IMG_0015.jpg
Views: 178
Size: 43.4 KB

Almost done:

Name: IMG_0023.jpg
Views: 200
Size: 53.1 KB

Added this too:

And now for the PITA of the century… Why, Why, did Ford go to these things, what ever they are called. I call them the “F’d-Pins” if you don’t get them out you are F’d.

Name: IMG_0022.jpg
Views: 191
Size: 35.0 KB

Are there any alternatives to these things.
I need to replace at least 6 of them maybe more so I want to do them all but was thinking maybe something/someone, somewhere has to replace them.

Also finally added the “Alon MAG_Mount” nice touch but no pic.

While I was at it yesterday I turned the speakers over, tweeters on top now.
Harness was a little short, got out the cable stretcher and all work out ok.
Thanks for the heads up.

Update on Noise Mat !
The Fat Mat works great, almost can’t believe the sound deadening ability of this stuff.
Road noise has almost gone away and trans noise very low.
