Spring, TX

Spring Creek, Spring, TX. North Houston..

Its got fun for everyone.. rock courses, WE ROCK course, mud, mud bog race track thingy, hill climbs, offcamber junk, what basically is a mecca of little climbs which can be sideways, trick and flexy or boring and straight.. blah

I'm going back to Spring Creek this summer. June 12-14 is out of the question because Katemcy>Spring Creek, even if the ranger isn't there.

Camping at Spring creek isn't advisable since stuff gets jacked and/or vandalized.. I've heard way too many bad stories to even chance it.

You can come watch, come play.. w/e. I want a decent sized group so i can just sit and watch at times. I haven't decided if I want to wheel 2 days or 1, i can kill all day in the sand/creek bed stuff EASY. there's apparently a lot of trails back through the forest too.. If i stay I'll be getting a hotel room.

sooooo Who's in, and when would work? remember, June 12-14 is OUT.. aka NOT gonna happen.. at all. nada, don't try. When it happens, I'll probably go to college station after work on some friday, then head to spring early saturday morning.

If you've got a quad, bring it out.. Correct me if I'm wrong but in the summer you can go swimming in the creek.

Here's a few pics, and the website. When i went last time it was $10 a person, but one jeep didn't get charged haha.

http://www.springcreekoffroad.com/

This is the area i was talking about, where i could kill most of a day playing around taking different lines, up just about everything.

If the zuk is running by whenever you want to go, I will bring it out. That's where I bought it from.

You do need to be careful though at Spring Creek... lots of umm... "less educated" folks out there not always practicing safe/courteous wheeling.

I can't see the picture, but I know they like to winch while standing around in the open with no towel/jacket on the winchline and no ****** block too.

so far.. they seem to have stretched some, on the lift at work i couldn't freely spin the front shaft but thats also full droop.. on a lift.

I'm thinking about taking the front shaft off and doing some grinding, see if i cant get more travel out of the double cardan joint.

My god... that reminds me of the tracker I bought for parts...

That thing was a terrifying exhibit of redneck "safety"
