I have been hassled about my tire size both times at inspection even though its legal. Another kid I know could not pass inspection with 33" tires and a 3" BL. He passed after swapping on 25" tires for the inspection. Another friend had a Tacoma with ?" of lift and 35" tires. He got a friend to pass him with inspection but his truck was impounded by the State Police after the third time he was pulled over. I don't know why they are so strict here, they let HID headlamps pass with no problem.
6.05 Maximum Combined Mechanical and Tire Lift
(1) The maximum mechanical lift for four wheel drive motor vehicles shall be calculated by multiplying the wheel base times the wheel track, and dividing the product by a safety factor of 2200:
i.e., 92" w/b x 58" w/t = 5336/2200 = 2" (maximum mechanical lift).
The outside diameter of the largest tire size available from the original
manufacturer as standard or optional equipment for the particular motor vehicle may also be increased up to an amount equal to the maximum mechanical lift calculated.
I guess that comes out to about 4" so IDK what the problem is.

Ive already got the tires and gears so I am not really looking to change at this point.
I might not get pulled over for a 3" lift and 33"but I am sure I would get nailed for it if I got pulled over for something else.
Anyways I know the meet is next weekend but I am still planning on going wheeling this weekend so if any one wants to go let me know.

I am thinking of trying out Ma Bell this weekend. I have never taken my truck there before and it is a tough trail so it should be interesting.

find a new Inspection Station !
My inspection station says nothing about my 4.5” lift & 33s, your inspection guy is trying too hard to be an @ss. I haven’t even got a rear bumper and the plate is held on by wire and I get no problem, maybe because I am older, not sure but come to Gloucester and get a sticker.
I was told, in MA as long as the tires don’t stick out too far and the windows are not too dark then there would be no problem.
How can one station interpret rules one way the next totally opposite, typical MA BS.
