Jersey Meet 2

By popular demand, I'm putting a meet together for January in Jackson, NJ. Well be meeting up in the big field at Collier's Mills (see link), then going for food and drinks/whatever else after that.

It's located in the western, central part of NJ, so it's pretty close to PA and good for north and south NJ as well. For those that would like to wheel, we could head back to Collier's Mills after the food and drinks/whatever and hit the trails. It's a state forest and all the trails are legal - as long as it's truly a trail.

I'm thinking 11:00 on a Saturday would be a good time to meet up, its not too early, hopefully not too cold, and right around lunch time.

The date will be announced after the poll is closed.

For the location/directions, click on the map in this link: Colliers Mills, NJ 08527 - Google Maps

If it works out well, we could do that. It's about 10 minutes from Great Adventure, which might appeal to some people also.

Mike, I just wanted to use this as a meeting point as it's a nice big field that would work for lifted, lowered or stock Rangers, then we could hit the trails after going out for food and drinks. I just wanted to accommodate everybody in case there were some that didn't want to wheel.

This is a state forest where you can bring any vehicle as long as it's registered and insured - so no quads unfortunately. There are a bunch of trails out there, I've been through a few of them. Maybe I've been spoiled by Wharton State Forest, but there aren't a whole lot of challenging spots out there... it still makes for a good time though.

In order to fish, I think you'd need to pick up a license, but it's good for all of the state parks in the state. As far as cooking out goes, if you can't cook there, I live 5 minutes down the road, and we can do stuff there.

Hey winks, since you live and jersey and know a lot about the state parks and stuff I figured you would know this... Are you allowed to take your trucks on the beach in the off season??

Scott, you gotta go OFF the main trail. I know all about the flies, cause we ride the horses through there, that's what they make fly spray for.

Mike, you can't drive on many of the beaches around here. Your best bet is to search the net to find out if you can or not.

Chris, that's a 6+ hour trip, so it's tour call. If you want some good wheeling, join in on one of our Wharton State Forest trips, they're a blast.

i have a house on long beach island, i got a beach buggy pass for one of the townships there during my honeymoon this year and it was 15 bucks all they wanted was to know make and model to make sure i wasnt driving a mini van. but remember you cant go tearing up the beach.... tread lightly, they (and i) take those beaches seriously. not really that much fun unless your into early morning surf fishing.

EDIT: its good for one FISCAL (spelling) year... ie: january 1 to dec 31.... dont know if you can buy a 2011 this year or have to wait til then
