So if I understand correctly, a lot of the guys that used to be on here still meet at SL like they did when they were all on here and had Rangers, they just aren't on here and don't have Rangers lol

If that's the case, keep me posted on some of the meets y'all have planned. I'd be interested for sure, just depending on when it is.

Last year it was Me, My91Ranger and Morris at Silver lakes. We went twice last year and We're planning on doing two again next year.

I will post relevant information when we decide on some dates, most likely in the spring we'll get our first date nailed down and decide the second one once everyone is there and we decide if we like ya.

Silver lakes is a fun time and If you ask any of the guys who have gone before, they'll say the trip is worth it.

I've hung out with guys from this forum, the other forum, and local Ranger guys. It's usually just small mini-meets though. Nothing like what used to be commonplace. I never had to drive far because I live a few minutes from the Ocala National Forest and everybody always wanted to meet here.

I missed out on the last SL trip because of the truck problems.

My SAS will be done soon and I plan to head back up there.

Will do. Need to find more Ranger people to go. All the old members that used to come up sold their Rangers.

Yea mild trails, cookout, camping, whatever. It really depends on how many people we have and who wants to stay multiple days. Oh, and whether or not somebody is 4x4. lol. The last time I hit the trails there were three of us, and we were all 4x2. And my truck was useless to pull anybody out because I lost reverse about 15 minutes into the trip. lol.

I've been contemplating on a winch for mine, but I'd do a front hitch and have it to where I could pull from the front or back. But that's after the lift/tires.

I did the same, but decided against it because I don't wheel enough to make it worthwhile.

And yet I'm doing a 4x4 swap.

That's why I was thinking about getting a 12k Harbor Freight special for like $350-$400 a lot more economical than a Warn and I darn sure wouldn't use it much, but a 8k Warn is only like $600, so who knows

Have you looked into the Engo winches? Priced right and its been getting great reviews. I have the Engo 10k on my Jeep and love it.
Would be interested in going to one of your meets so I can get to know you folks. Id most likely be driving my Jeep with my son in his Ranger 4x4. That is if you guys allow vehicles other than Rangers to ride with you.

Whenever I move back to Indiana I'd be down for a trip to SL.. always wanted to go there. And road trips are fun.

Just thinking aloud... Where would be a good place to go if we organized something like a Southeastern meet that included people like me, Justin, and the guys as far west as Texas if they wanted to come? Tennessee would probably be the most "central" state, but I don't know enough about where we could ride up there.

North Alabama could work too. If we can round up a group and find a good place, I'd be in on something like that when the Ranger gets up and running.

I'm not trying to leave the other guys out, I just need something to tie me over until I can make a SL trip lol
