Scott, Dustin and myself are definite. We'll be meeting up in Hickory, NC and driving up to Pisgah National Forest

 

picked up my air mattress and stuff today! one more freaking week!

 

if you guys are meeting in hickory, I might come up. I didnt feel like driving up there by myself

how far is hickory from where you all are going?

 

45 minutes - 1 hour. We'll probably be doing a good amount of driving once we get up there as well

 

well considering I'm getting better gas mileage at the moment, from driving like my mom I guess hahaha, I don't see a problem with coming. so I'll see if any of my local ranger friends wanna go, and I shall report back here. you guys camping in tents?

 

Yeah Scott and I both have truck tents and I assume Dustin will bring a tent for himself

 

As of the moment, we hare having hamburgers and hot dogs that evening thanks to the cook Trent..lol. You also mentioned some brownies and mac and cheese????? For breakfast the next morning, having bacon and pancakes and possibly eggs.

Here is what is on my checklist that I am bringing

-Truck Bed Tent
-Air mattress (Can i borrow your air pump trent...lol)
-plenty of blankets and sleeping bags
-big cooler
-small cooler
-backback in case we hike
-three fishing poles
-tackle
-wienie roasters for hot dogs and marshmellows
-two chairs

Food:

-items for smores
-hotdogs (enough for everybody)
-chips
-sandwich stuff (in case we stay past lunch Sunday)

Not all these items are for everybody. Ill make sure i have enough hotdogs and stuff, but if you want some chips and smores and stuff, get your own..haha

so this meet is going to involve fishing, scenic driving, some hiking, and chilling? no legit offroading? cos I just ordered a hilift in hopes I could use it before the upstate meet

 

No, theres no legit offroading up there unless you want to go to Brown Mountain OHV but my big *** truck will not be participating.

 

as far as fishing goes, are those designated trout waters? Because I need to go get a few days pass to be able to fish. Im not fishing for trout, but i bet because if its designated as trout waters, i bet you have to have a trout license

 

Yeah they are, Pisgah National Forest is considered gamelands anyway if I remember correctly.

no legit offroading is fine lol, just figured if I could somehow get stuck, why not lol. but, unfortunately, I can't make it out. just talked to my mom, and I'll be in Tennessee that weekend for my sisters birthday. fml.

 

hey Zak, I live in spindale now..So you can follow me up nxt saturday if you want to..We dont have to meet in hickory then , we can meet closer to where were camping

 

umm Scooty, I just bought a fishing license, it covers trout..If you have your fishing license you should be fine....I didnt get a "trout" stamp..Guess that dont exsist...

Well what can I bring along? I can bring some food, and a cooler of beer? lol

So do you want to meet us closer to Brown Mountain Beach Rd instead of meeting us in Hickory? Doesn't matter anyway to me, I'll be in Hickory that morning to visit my aunt but I can meet Scott there and then we just go meet you.

 

It would be more fitting to for me to meet yall at Brown mtn beach access. Coming from where I live now, um yes I can get some firewood shouldnt be a problem, I always carry my axe too...

 

I'll get us some firewood for the night, Im gonna try and get the free kind..lol, I mean there is always wood to be bought, but id rather get some wood no one wouldnt mind giving up
