New guy from ON, CANADA

Hey guys whats up? new guy here, another one from up north. i am in guelph on, canada. i have been running around checking things out the last little while and seems like a great forum.

i have a 09 sport 4x4. i dont know if there's differences in the can/us models. i dont know too much about trucks (as much as i dont wanna get flamed on. i was a big honda guy and still love them, i just have different needs now) i got the truck in june and its all stock expect the bed is rhino lined.

from what i was reading at the time i was buying, i picked the options i thought were best. its the 4x4, 4.10 rear end, lsd, full tow package, rancho suspension, factory skid plates, auto trans, rear sliding window. in my eyes its the fx4 model with out all the expensive crap i didnt want or need. (i could be wrong tho) everything underneath the truck was the same on paper as far as i could tell, and thats what mattered to me.

i am not going to be huge into the offroading or anything and i probably wont be doing nething to the truck right away, as i just bought a new house and need to do enough stuff around here, and i have a son on the way in april so it way be a long time before i even do the little things i would like. but thats fine with me i just wanted to say hey and whats up.

i do have an idea of what i want the truck to look/be like when that time does come and its nothing too extreme but it will suit my needs and wants. i feel kinda screwed that i may have to do a "prekey" mod and larger blocks(older 2.5") in the rear just to get the height of the 07 and older models(if i understood what i read correctly) but thats ok, if i need to then so be it. i want to get it looking level in the front and i dont know if cranking the t-bars is enough (also from what i have read), neways this intro of mine is getting huge, so to end it off i am going to try and quote what i want the truck to look like from a pic i stole in one of the other sections on the site.

[QUOTE=Fx4wannabe01;1515305]For a better angle, check this out...PRE BL on the same wheels and tires...

So yeah....add a half inch sticking out farther, and bam! there ya go....right to the edge of the flare.

if anyone might be able to clear up whats done to the truck in the pic, at the time it was taken for me that would be great i can start adding to my wish list. if i am not mistaken its changed looks since then.

i think i read that it was is truck but in the new pics its double lifted and had those sliders and stuff with the painted flares, looks sick, but mine will never look like that maybe like the pic i posted tho. thats why i was wondering what was done to it at that time. i now in the process of trying find out thru his old posts haha i sound like a stalker. and i guess there are more and more Ontarians here, heres a few pics of mine nothing crazy tho.

Good looking truck! and i think he only had the BL and 33's then. the backspacing on the rims made it stick out a bit and the tire width helped too

ic, from what the poster fx4wannabe01 posted i thought maybe it was "pre" BL maybe if thats what he ment. but like i said i am new to the truck thing, but they look like big rubber so i dunno... maybe prekey and cranked, i am too new to know, cant be that easy tho.

If you want it to look like that, this is what you need to do

Prekey with cranked torsion bars + alignment ~120$CAN
Belltech 6400 Rear Shackles = 80$CAN
Add-a-leaf (mine is a Pro Comp) = 80$CAN
15x8" Rims (his are Cragar Soft 8's, 398 series I beleive, with I think 3.75" backspacing) ~80$CAN ea.
33x12.5R15 Tires (Get BFG Mud Terrain KM2's, you won't regret it) ~ 260$CAN

Hope it helps

chris, welcome. i've been to guelph and love it. my uncle is in rockwood. those houses look like the ones near the main park (there was a ribfest there on the weekend after labour day. i wanna say centennial but i think i'm wrong) you chose a great colour and when clean, it looks great! i get tons of compliments when it's clean. i didn't know you cold drive on sauble beach.

jimmeh, i think he's got vinyl floors and as for seats, i dunno since buckets and split benches came in the sport. as for power locks/windows, i dunno again.

i will try and find some interior shoots, but theres no tilt, no power, vinyl floor, bench seats-60/40 split and i think thats it. i didnt see the need to spend the extra cash for things i didint want. as for where the pics were taken, they were actually at my parents place before i bought the new place in guelph. it was back in brampton, on(**** hole of sorts haha) but ya i am not far from rockwood at all. my GF has family there and we were looking there too but it gets kinda pricey. beautiful little town tho.

it does, i am going to go find some pics of yours to tho, the only thing i wonder about that truck in that stage was there any rubbing the flares with the 33's. maybe 32's would work too. and i just have to decide if i want to play with it while its still all under warranty, i need to look into that too and see what it will effect.
