new to ranger forums

names ian i have a 2000 ford ranger ext cab 4x4 auto im averaging 14 mpg. was wondering if anythin is worth doing for mileage and power. i have a drop in filter, was thinkin custom single catr-back magnaflow, electric fan, manual lock outs (not sure if i can do this one reason i need help its a 2000) or just swap a 5.0 and aod in. need most cost effective and most effient thanks

i definitely think your gas mileage situation would decrease with the addition of a 5.0. but i cannot attest. try losing your catalytic converter, what kind of engine does it have? im assuming its a 4.0 because not even people who own the 3.0 like it. if it is, add the K&N cold air intake. that will give you a few more horses.

its a 3.0 auto it sucks. thinkin 302 with some gear. i have factory 4.10s

Welcome, and your mpgs depend on how u drive and what kinda drivin u do the most... city or hwy or mixed

i drive high three days a week and back roads butm baby it to get mileage

That mileage is unreal for a 3.0. I am getting 18-19 on mine. I was getting 16-17 out of my 5.0 Exploder. I'd do a full tune-up on that if you haven't recently. You should be able to get better mileage than that.

thing is i have only thing left is the fuel filter and injectors everything is new and checked. not sure guess i could check egr also
