Glad to find this forum! Have a '96 Ranger X-cab XLT, 3.0L V-6, AOD transmission. Bought it several years ago with 112,000 on the clock, currently almost 180,000. It's my primary driver, and has been pretty trouble free, and a good little truck.
I live near Centerville, Indiana, am retired from the former Perfect Circle Division of Dana Corporation after 28 years in the engine testing lab (formally known as the Tech Center), my primary job being Instrumentation Technician, and assisting the mechanics when they needed help building up or tearing down engines. Worked there until they shut the doors and kicked me out. We tested our products in everything from Briggs & Stratton to 500hp diesels.
After they shut the doors, I worked at General Motors Advanced Technology Vehicles in Indianapolis for 3 years, designing test equipment for the EV1 electric car--until they, too, closed the doors and kicked me out! Since then, just a bunch of temporary jobs.
