ranger 4 life

Hello to everyone on this site, i have been on this site many time but never became a member until today. I used to beat the sh** out of my copper orange 98 ranger with the splash fibergrlass box until i flipped it in the winter of 2010 drifting up hear in winterland quebec. I eventually bought a 03 fx4 offroad not long after and have been loving it as much as the last if not more and just recently i picked up a 2010 4.0 engine with 50kms on it and i am plannin on building a drift truck for the summer and i am having a hard time finding information to build my project. This will NOT be my daily driver and the 4.0 alone is not nearly enough power to get me sideways on dry ashfault. i am planning on using the torsion diff from an 08 fx4 level 2 and the body of a simple cab and stripping the box with just the fiberglass flares on braquettes to kill some weight. I am pretty much looking for some advice on modifying the engine, i have looked into superchargers and 75hp doesnt seem like enough bang for my buck and theres very little on turbo setups but think that it might be a more powerful solution... Can anyone here help me out?

lol didnt think brackets would get coloured and favoured as well, not much more help on this site ppl are gonna say find a stang forum for the most part.

what are your goals for hp. the 4.0 is low on power, weak on rpm, and has minimal aftermarket support so even if you want to cure a problem you may not be able to buy a solution.

what are you ditching the leafs and live axle for, what coilovers you gonna run?

Im not that sure exactly what i want yet, i just have some ideas that need to be perfected, that is pretty much y i am here.... i pretty much do everything myself on my truck and have worked on more that one ranger. I just picked up a 2010 4.0 for 500$ with 50km from a guy that left the dealer and scrapped his truck and he wasnt insured and have always wanted to build a ranger with alot of power and i have a passion for drifting especially since we get alot of snow up here and 8 months of the year we drift on snow... i havent reallt thought of the suspension yet, that is the least of my worries for now, i am used to drifting with an my fx4 in winter and that is not very stable especially since both my link kits fell off :O

Wirelessly posted (Timberwolf)

Check the engine tech threads. Force induction, N20 and V8. Thats where you will find power. If your starting a for real drift Ranger build, you HAVE to post pics and updates. Cause I wanna see this. Maybe all of us.
