Robuilt from Deep South Texas
Hi, i just wanted to introduce myself. I am looking to get back into the truck community after selling my last project mustang.
here is a pic of one of my old projects, self titled "Superlift Ranger", lol
4" suspension lift, 3" body on 32" BFG Mudders. I loved that truck!
Here is my old F150 w/ a 3" body lift (2wd)
Sadly, both are gone. Funny enough, the ranger was sold to buy a mustang, that mustang was sold to buy the F150, the f150 was sold to buy another mustang, and that mustang was just recently sold, now to purchase a Ranger 4x4.
im looking for a 93-97 Ranger 4x4, Supercab with the 4.0L engine and manual transfer case.
ive been looking locally and the average price for a truck like that with over 100K miles is going for 4,000-4500. Now this is at those little used car lots and the price is escalated because we are so close to the border. THose trucks often are purchased to be taken into mexico to be used in ranches, farms, remote villages, etc. so the demand dictates the price. I havent found anything on the private market but just wanted advice as to what i can expect to pay for a good truck as described above.
also, (ill be doing research), but are there any advantages to the manual lock hubs vs. the auto lock hubs? i just dont have a confident feeling swithhing to 4x4 with a little **** on the dash. I already had a bad experience with "button shift engagement" while trying to drive my sister-in-laws 4x4 navigator to a spot on the beach where we were all hanging out. The little light on the dash said 4X4 but the message obviously wasnt delivered to the transfer case, lol......
ill chat with you all later!
