Hello From Massachusetts

Hey, everyone. My name's Steven Harrell and I'm from Springfield, Mass. I'm the project leader for Pioneer Valley Council's Boy Scout Venture Crew 35. The project is to take our 98 Ranger and turn it into a SCORE and BITD approved off road race truck which we will then race in the 2008 SCORE Baja 1000 and either the '08 or '09 BITD Vegas to Reno (that one depends on if we can have the truck ready by next August).

It's been an awesome ride so far. One of our fundraisers was working security in Ricky Carmichael's pit during a local motocross race, shortly followed by the fundraiser "auction off Ricky's pants on ebay" (don't worry, he gave them to us).

I hope no one thinks less of me for this, but I'd like to mention the Crew's Project website, venturecrew35.org. If you go into the crew blog, you'll see photos from our day working security at the Motocross race, as well as updates on the project.

And here's something I know you guys want to see.

It's a FMF sticker the previous owner put on.

You're right, there's body damage. But I don't get the honor of claiming responsibility for it. Supposedly a previous owner somehow managed to tip it over when he hit a curb. Fine by me. I doubt the Crew could've afforded to buy it without the body damage. And everything else on the truck works fine. Besides, it'll probably have more after Baja.
