hello from Prince George, British Columbia
Hello everyone, I've been trolling the site for a while now, and i decided i should finally introduce myself. The names Karl, and as the title says im from PG,B.C. I should start of by saying that this is the first ranger i have ever boughten, before then i only ever owned S dimes. My last dime was a 96 stepside with 5" total lift and 31's. When it started costing me anywhere from $300.00 to $500.00 a month to repair it i finally made the jump over to ford. I bought my 2011 FX4 in the middle of august. At first i was kind of like "well i don't know if i really like the thing" it's much more cramped then my old S dime, and not as comfy, but with time that all went away. By the end of the first week i was pretty much in love with it, minus the shitty traction control and Roll control. Since i've owned it, i haven't done much to it, just the basic stereo upgrade and a bug deflector and window visors. As for the stereo im currently running a pioneer headunit, Hertz 5'1/4' front and Hertz 5x7 in the rear. Im running a 600wrms JL audio amp, and a 12' W3 woofer that isn't currently set up as im in the process of thinking a box for it, so right now i have a 10'' W3 in a generic box. Future plans with the truck are prety much going to be small, Im waiting for some duratracs right now, but they're on a national back order, and then i'll be doing a key and either shackle lift, or an AAL. After that, the plan is to remove the stock muffler and go with either a flowmaster super 50 or a superturbo from dynomax. HID's will grace the headlights soon enough as i have those on order. and then maybe to finish it off i might do either a 2' or 3' PA bodylift. I'm sure that you'll be seeing a lot of posts from me both in asking a lot about rangers, and sharing my vast knowledge of pretty much anything to do with vehicles. A quick brief about me, I worked as a mechanic for a few years before making the jump to a parts person for several years after that. While doing that i also competed proffessionally in mobile audio sound off and SQ competitions. Being that this is one of the the only few trucks i have ever owned, im tempted to get back into competition just to see that i can do with a truck. I take my car to the 1/4 mile as often as i can, and when im not doing that, i'll go do some wheeling. I no longer work as a parts person as the recession made sure of that, So i decided to go back to school and become a male nurse! Well that's pretty much it for now, sorry about the winded introduction. Hope to be able to share and learn as much as i can from everyone here. Cheers.
