Thanks guys. I picked the truck up from my buddy's lawn care company's yard today down in Detroit... Got in and it fired right up... Muscled it into 1st and moved pretty well. It has a black cap on it. Kinda makes it look like a pedophile-mobile(not for long) and also plan to remove most of the body rust and "murder" it out. But anyway here's a couple pics. and no the beacon light was not included in the sale lol.

Looks like a fine donor for the 32v 4.6. Look forward to meeting you at a MI meet as I'm there quite frequently.

Awesome find! I bought a '86 for $100 a couple of months ago, but it still isn't running.

My buddy actually found it.. He was going to buy it but he already has a project of his own and a little less know how than myself. I'm going to start tearing into the trans tomorrow and begin my diagnosis. I haven't checked at work yet how much it would be to overhaul it with ford parts. Anybody rebuild one of these m5od/r1 and any recommendation for an overhaul kit.

Yep, I'm in the ford asset program along with Justin(Toreador4x4). My brother is giving me a hand tonight, so we should be able to get this trans out.. Going to pick up the input cluster, output, and overhaul kit tomorrow hopefully.

Yep, they wanted me to count the teeth on reverse/5th synchro ring. I got the trans out tonight. The tailshaft housing is off along with the top cover, slave cyl and that cover in the bell. I'm thinking about going out there on lunch either tomorrow or after school wed and get my flywheel resurfaced and pick up the parts. The sooner the better.

does the gear box resurface flywheels or will it have to do to quality clutches?
