I'm a new guy
Hi All, My name is Denis and I'm a Rangerholic (All reply in unison "Hi Denis!!"),
I'm a semi-retired, 58 year-old guy who lives in a sleepy little town in the Ozarks. I have a stock, bare bones, 95 Ranger that I bought as a "getting to School" vehicle for my son back in 1997. We were living Memphis at the time. I paid $5K for it with 30K miles and a year and a half old. It was a used program vehicle and was in showroom condition at the time. We'll it got 3 kids through school, me around town, a few trips to Montana (I'm fly fish addict, as well), and have loaned to countless friends when their vehicles were out of commission.
Now this death-defying truck has 200K miles, every panel has at least one dent, the paint is faded, the liner is deteriorated and it basically looks like well, you know. But I absolutely love this vehicle. I've had it forever, It runs great. It's great on gas. No one will steal it. ( i do wish that it had a club seat and 4WD though) A lesser person would have traded it in but I have a dream of someday rebuilding and restoring the little sucker. My son who is a mechanic says that it would make a great project truck from an amateur like me. I will, however, first have to build a garage to work in and get a bunch of building projects completed but that's another story for another forum. I'm pretty much on my own here (where I live) so other than other shade tree rednecks whatever i do I'll be pretty much doing alone.
My son suggested that I join this forum and get to know some folks who know Rangers. For know I have to keep this truck alive by fixing a bad oil pan gasket and valve cover gaskets. I'll take those to the forum, but wanted to introduce myself and let you know why i'm here, and where I'm coming from.
Thanks for the opportunity,
Denis,
Cotter AR.
