New 1991 Ranger Owner
First off, this is the first truck I have ever owned. Actually, first American vehicle period.
I just bought a 1991 Ranger XLT (2.3l 5-speed) today. It has 130,xxx miles on it and it's in excellent condition. It got a new paint job within the last year, and there are no dents or scratches. The engine bay is clean (cleaner than my nearly new Suzuki in fact) and the interior is as well. There are a few rips in the driver's seat and the headliner needs to be replaced, but those are the only bad things about the truck. I do want to replace the tires though, for some reason the previous owner installed some Falken competition street racing tires. They're too low profile and the speedometer is about 5mph fast because of it. Not to mention they look ridiculous.
Here are some pics. I didn't take them, they were on the truck's craigslist page.

Probably not. Except maybe a new shift ****, the cobra head one is a little uncomfortable for me. I'd rather just have a plain old ball one.
Oh, and some other things I like about it: It's got a new headunit, a Pioneer, with a CD player and an iPod jack. I'm not sure yet, but I think the speakers were upgraded as well. The tires are actually excellent, very good grip even in the pouring rain, but I just don't like how they look.
It's got dual exhaust, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think it came like that from the factory. I just don't understand the point of splitting the exhaust on a straight 4 engine.
Getting used to this thing is going to take a little while. It's SO much different from the little high-strung sport compacts I'm used to. (Yeah, I'm one of those punk *** kids.

I'll get some better pics of it tomorrow, after I get it registered and what not. (Yes, I drove it 60+ miles home without tags) I'll be sure to get a close up of my ricer tires.
Also, I have an aluminum diamond plate toolbox in the back now. It was free, my dad had it from his old Dodge Dakota. It fits perfectly.

I just came across the previous owner's maintenance logs while searching the owner's manual for a wiring diagram (my horn doesn't want to work, but the fuse is good.) WOW! This guy really loved his truck! He changed the oil every 1.5k miles, and by the price, I'd say full synth! I'm glad, the truck runs like a champ, I had her going 85mph down the highway during a thunderstorm no problem!

I have no idea. I know it's a dual system, with two pipes dumping out on either side behind the rear tires. I don't know what kind of muffler it has, I'll have to look. I actually didn't know I had duals until my father pointed it out to me after he followed me home.

Ok, I checked out the exhaust. There's a 1 in 2 out oval muffler about in the middle of the truck, with the two tailpipes routed to either side. Its completely pointless, I guess the previous owner thought it would look good. Maybe if I got some nice tips it would.

Oh yeah, bigger pics tomorrow. I've already added a few custom parts, like pedals, a shift ****, and a neon frame for the plate.

They aren't bad performing, they're great actually, they just don't look right. They're to small. 195/60r14. I think the stock tire size is 215/75r14?
