New guy, thinking about buying a ranger.

Hey!

I'm Billy, I'm looking into Ford Rangers at the moment. My father owned won in the past and it was a pretty nice truck. Right now I drive a Jeep XJ, but it doesn't suit my purposes well so it's going to be turned into a family hauler.

Right now I'm just using the forum to check up on info and whatnot.

I don't think I'll be buying anything that new, I'm looking more towards the 1993-1997(?) trucks. There's one for sale in my area that I might go look at when I get the time.

Mostly just hauling trash to the dump and for hauling wood etc when we are camping. Sometimes I pick up some gravel as well, and that all gets messy in the back of a Jeep.

It's bad enough when my wife brings her little yappy dogs in it and they get hair all over.

sounds like you should consider a utility trailer if you have somewhere to park it rather than a new vehicle

ok when you go for the older model, you sacrifice the 4 doors (heck i still did with my 06' supercab....) but you can still get a supercab 4wd w/ the 4.0L....i think you would be mych more satisfied even if you are just hauling trash....thats all i did with my ol' 94 2wd, and i wasnt satisfied with the 2.3 engine and lack of more room and 4.0 power....
