New to Ranger's and this Forum
Hey Everyone,
I just bought a 1999 Ford Ranger 4x4 4.0L Auto with 133,000 miles. I needed to buy the truck after my 1998 Ram 1500 finally went with 251,574 miles. I was able to keep it going by reading forums like this one and I am looking to do the same with my Ranger. I have been driving it for a week now and I have a few questions.
1. How many gallons does the fuel tank hold? ( I have been getting 19.756 MPG about 310 miles per tank)
2 I noticed that there is no low fuel idiot light but the check gagues light turns on when fuel is low. Is that the rangers all in one idiot light?
3 When I take off from a stop (low speeds and rpms) it feels like the rear slips and catches is this a common feeling for this truck.
that is all i have for now about the truck.
Now for the forum, with my ram I had a list of bolts and there head size that I copied from the forum. It was a handy little cheat sheet. Does any one know if that type of sheet is floating around this site for the Ranger. If not I will then get one going.
It will be nice getting to know all of you as I rack up the miles and deal with future problems on my ranger.
Thanks
Ray

go check your "low fuel" light again. I have the same exact truck as you and the light says "check gauge"
