Help me!

hello, im new, my name is stephen and i have a 94 ranger xlt 4.0 v6 with 180xxx mi.. so i need to know how i can beat my friends 03 chevy s10 (v6) we've never raced b4 but im sure his is gonna be quicker off the line, and overall much faster. considering my speedometer only goes up to 80! plz help me!

Hope you're racing at a track. There's no magical power or acceleration adder. Other than easy bolt-ons and a tuner you'll have to get a supercharger and upgrade engine internals.

hmm, okay, do you think removing the tailgate will really help? like with the weight and all? and do you know any specific engine internals that wouldnt be too costly?

No, removing the tailgate will do nothing.

Inexpensive and engine internals can't really be used in the same sentence. For one thing most people can't tackle such a job because they don't have the tools nor the knowledge to.

Thanks, and thank you for the advice, i just really wanna beat him but im not so sure the old ranger can pull it off.

Have a look at: Super Six Motorsports and Morana V6 Racing

Not sure if they still manufacture many (or any) performance parts for the OHV engine, but it's worth a look if you are truly interested.

re-gear, seafoam for engine, change your plugs and wires,clean your MAF, change your oil. any maintnence you can catch up on will help you out. dont be lookin for a miracle but these things should free up a couple horses. you could always sabotage his truck.
