my ranger

my ranger i just purchased, havent did the paperwork yet. which year is it, it has a 87 ford thunderbird turbo 2.3 in in. which transmissions will bolt to that? as third is out. it looks better in person. would it require the fuel pump from the tbird or would the ranger be good enough? it will bust the tires loose easy. i think it would surprise some hondas?
