Welcome to R/F

Are you looking to upgrade your plain jane truck, or keep it like it is

Strictly a working truck & a safer commute for my wife in the winter w/blizzak tires.
One of the reason I signed on was issues with the super cab driver door. The latch seems to slip a bit causing the dome light & door ajar warning.
Have any members had this issue?
Thx

Welcome to RF.

Spray some WD40 on the latching mechanisms and slam the door closed about 5 times. It's fixed my two previous rangers. My current one is still ok.

may as well do both sides, passenger and driver, so it doesn't occur on the other side as well.
Good luck

After I did what you suggested, I pulled on the cab door and there was lots of play compare to none on the passenger side, so a new latch is required.
Thanks for the info.
Happy New Years.

It's some winter climate BS, just to let you know. Here in Alaska, as soon as the temps drop the door starts registering as ajar. I assume you're a 4 door...I haven't found a fix but I might try what 99OnroadRanger said on my truck
