New guy here. No Ranger, just helping an elderly neighbor.
Hello all.
As stated, I do not own a Ranger, but I do have a 1976 Pinto! !
I came here to seek advice from those that would know.
I am helping my elderly neighbor by changing the heater core in their 1996 Ranger.
From what I have read it is a pain in the butt.
Any shortcuts/advice would be greatly welcomed.
I am no novice to repairs, but would like to get in and out with as little hassle as I can.

you do not need to take the whole dash out, if you loosen the steering column you can support the dash by stringing it up to the grab handles and swing it out of the way on the passenger side. That way you do not need to disconnect the gauge cluster or anything like that. Check the blend door while you are at it.
