New from Southern CA, might be getting 94 Ranger this week.

Hello forum, name is Jeremy. 24yrs old. From Southern CA, out in the high desert. Mechanic for a local dealership. Had a 91 f150 a couple years ago and loved the truck but it was a huge turd with the 5.0 and a clogged cat, combined with 8 mpgs I couldn't afford it. Sold it and bought a Kia Rio and now want to get out of it for a truck again.

Going to look at a Ranger tomorrow after work. It's a 94 XLT 2wd. Has the 4.0 and a 5 speed manual. 185k on it. Blown headgasket, coolant in oil. He's asking 900 but willing to work on price. My interest in this truck is for mostly DD purposes but also hauling my junk and picking up the random stuff that I buy. I'm a craigslist hound and always buying stuff to re-sell. Anywho, been reading up on the headgasket and it seems pretty straight forward and I should be up and running by next week.

My plans for this truck are to get it running of course, then do a full exhaust from headers to tail pipe, and probably a CAI of some sort. Stay that way for a while and DD the hell out of it.

Picked it up for $800. Towed it home. Pretty solid truck. Interior is pretty well maintained. A good scrub and it will be great. No tears in the seats or carpets. Dash has one vent broken. Has AC, heat and a sweet tape deck. Headliner was in the middle of a home redo and not finished so it looks tacky. Out side, the body is pretty straight. Only dings are really in the front where it had a minor front end hit. Bumper is dented and there is a spray bombed hood on it. I'll redo the spray job on the hood and give the whole thing a set sand and polish to get some depth back to the paint.

It also has one of those plastic drop in bedliners. I'm not crazy about it since water puddles under them, but it'll do for now. I only managed one pic since it's been raining pretty good the last couple days. I'll get more when I start tearing into it this weekend.
