As of Saturday I'm A Ranger Owner!
I've been wanting a new pickup to replace my 20-year-old Toyota. I've been watching the supply of leftover 2011 Rangers since February or so, and by this past weekend there were a grand total of four within about 50 miles of my home. Three were at one dealership - all XLT 4x4's with the 4.0 V6 Auto. There was a red one and a white one equipped the way I wanted, and another rid one that was missing a few items.
I talked my wife into going over on Saturday morning. I had decided that I wanted the red one, but for some reason she was drawn to the white one. Anyway, we were looking at the red one that had the equipment that I wanted, and the salesman offered to get the key so we could test drive it. At the last minute my wife asked him to get the key for the white one, so we started out test-driving the white one. As we're driving past the showroom on our way to start the test drive, my wife suddenly says "Stop! Turn around! Go back!" I thought she left her purse on the ground or something. But she says "Look! There's some guy looking at the Red truck you want! If he buys it before us I'll never live it down!"
(Good woman. She knows her man!)
So we go back, get the key for the red one and test drive it, and come back and make the deal.
Anyway, I know you guys know what a red 2011 Ranger looks like. But, hey, this one's mine!
As I said, it's 2011 4.0 V6 Auto 4x4, has the limited-slip differential, front/mid/rear skid plates, Sirius satellite radio, and the Y-spoke wheels. I am really digging the wheels - in my opinion these are the equal to any aftermarket wheel I've seen, and I like them a lot more than the standard XLT 5-spoke jobs.
So anyway, I'm pumped.
Now for the tonneau cover and the Herculiner.

I'm mostly going to keep it stock for now. Tomorrow I'm getting a soft tri-fold tonneau cover, and I'll probably do a Herculiner bed liner. That's probably about it. Biggest mod is going to be a 24' x 24' 2-car garage with a second floor loft that we're getting ready to start construction on. That'll keep me broke and busy for a while!
