New to this forum but not new to Rangers

Hi! I was browsing around the internet, looking at Ranger articles and found this forum. Looked like fun (I was checking out the picture contest thread, "Post a pic of your Ranger next to a drunk guy in a giant Subway sandwich costume", etc.)

I have a 97 Ranger, a Cayman Green XLT Flareside extended cab with the jump seats in back and a tiny little 2.3L four cyl with a 5-speed manual. With the exception of my one mod - the addition of the camper top - it's all factory and going to stay that way. I bought it when it was brand-new, with only seven miles on it, and it's never given me a single problem until now. Had a couple of small transmission issues recently so it spent some time in the shop getting the tranny (and my wallet) cleaned out.

It's my daily driver, I love this truck. My other car is a 2005 Roush Mustang. I spent a couple of years in a Mustang club back in Omaha, and that was fun. I just haven't joined any car clubs since moving back to Texas.

Here's a pic I took back in Omaha when the truck turned 100,000 miles. The moment the odometer turned, I stopped and had a one-person Chinese Fire Drill to celebrate.

Oh, yeah, got plenty of pics of the Mustang.

One of my favorite things we used to do was Dyno Day. We'd do it each spring and fall, it's kind of trippy going 145 mph inside of a garage.

'Cause it'll jump out and bite us, have to keep it on a leash when you get it excited.

That's a good question, I didn't ask, just went along with what "the guys" did. (I was the token chick member for a long time.) Not sure how much help the straps would be, the car was chained down pretty heavily in back.

Oh, cheez....good question....I can't remember, ahahahaha....

I think it was 285 torque / 298 hp at the last one (a huge difference from the 265 it got at its first dyno), it had just broken in. It's a Stage 1, so really just a regular GT with Roush rice all over it - and a really big CAI.

I won't supercharge, it's perfect the way it is for me. If I wanted that, I'd buy a Stage 3, and even then it's only 425 hp. If you're going to spend that much, then get the GT 500, just make sure not to hit the curves too fast.
