Glad to see a
Ranger Forum, and I hope to contribute some as well as get some good advice on my old rig, a '93 forest green 3.0 XLT with a 6' bed and shell that I've driven around the west (U.S.) for many years. I'm now preparing to drop some coin on it and maybe make it to 300k or beyond (am currently at 208k) starting with pinion seals, motor & tranny mounts, wheels (15" from 14") and all-terrain tires, some bodywork and a full paint job.
I'm not a knowledgeable car guy, I just know random bits I pick up from talking to folks and from youtube. I'm also extremely frugal. However I do have, in addition to my beloved Ranger, a 93 candy-red supercharged Miata (CL dirt-cheap) as well as 2 old small bikes: an 06 Virago 250 (CL dirt-cheap) and a 76 Honda CJ360t (eBay dirt cheap). That's a lot of rigs for a guy who's ignorant and poor, and that's why I'm here. Mostly for the Ranger, but they all bleed together.
Okay, enough motor-mouthing. Good to make your acquaintances. And yes, I worked NPS for years, and spent many happy nights in the back of my truck in excellent locations in the back of beyond. Thank you for this site.
