whats going on everyone...happy new year

gotta question for anyone willing to help

i just took the heads off my ranger and I'm not sure whether or not i HAVE to now have them shaved before i put them back on...(I'm about broke) ...I've been told this several different times( sources not trusted) ...but wanted to see what some of my (hopefully) trusted ranger peers had to say about it...i don't want to have replace the bottom portion (crank rods pistons etc)...because of a higher compression...

im not sure what you mean by shaved. are you worried they are warped, or do you just want to up the compression ratio? i have seen somewhere thinner head gaskets to up compression too
