YOU Choose Colors Custom Ford Oval Emblem, KY

Here's a first, you name the colors (as long as I have them or can get them at a reasonable price) and I'll paint this Ford emblem for you.

As you can see, it's in the "bare" stage right now, just waiting for painting.

As shown in the pics, this one has a couple of small blemishes in the front. I'll try my best to wet sand & buff them out, but they MAY still be visible afterwards.

This emblem measures 4.75" / 4 3/4" wide and the back has 3 posts. The 2 mounting posts HAVE BEEN USED, but are not stripped.

Since it's a custom deal, I'll ask that this one be pre-paid... in case someone changes their mind I can't afford to get stuck with a color scheme that nobody else may want.

I've already spent about 6 or 7 hours removing the OEM chrome & blue paint. Painting will take another couple of hours with sanding in-between, then wet sanding & buffing the front will take another 2 or 3 hours before final assembly.

I SHOULD be able to get this emblem completed in 4 or 5 days, I like to wait 2 or 3 days just for the adhesive to cure before I install them on the truck.

Colors I have now are: Black, White, Green, Yellow, Bright Red, Darker Red, Silver & Gray. I may be able to get other colors, just let me know what you're looking for & I'll do my best to find something as close as possible.

Pricing... $20.00 shipped to USA: If I already have the paint colors you want.
If I need to buy other colors of paint, probably add $5.00 per color.

I'm not looking to get rich doing this, but I need to make a couple bucks.

I ONLY have this one emblem at this stage right now, but I'll try to find more emblems to work on down the road.

PayPal works for me.
First person to pre-pay gets his/her custom emblem.

nope, I paint the Ford script & oval first (a few coats) then sand off the paint from the "OEM blue" area and paint it a different color.

I kinda want to paint one black on black just to see what happens though

^ thanks 01RangerEdge^

I've been out this afternoon.

I started a thread a few days ago trying to get everyone with different year trucks to list the sizes of their emblems, but so far no responses.

I honestly don't know where the emblems came from (trunk, tailgate, grille), I bought a few in a lot & I'm sure somebody pulled them off vehicles in a junkyard.
If the 2 large post w/ 1 small post won't fit your application, it's easy to snip off the posts & add some foam emblem tape (I'll even do that if someone needs it).

Some of them look pretty rough before I start working on them, scuffs, scratches, etc in the front clear piece. I wet sand & buff them where they look almost as good as new when I'm done.
The only thing I can't control is the outer chrome bases that attach to the vehicle, sometimes they're perfect, sometimes they have wear. If one is too bad to buff out, I'll just sand & paint it to match the emblem color.

For reference, my 96 grille emblem is a 4 3/4" wide with the 2 large posts & 1 small post. I just swapped a 4 1/2" emblem that I made & the posts were the same size & location.
Not sure on the tailgate emblems, I haven't changed mine yet... but I plan on getting this done pretty soon.

I've had a TON of interest for these custom emblems!

I'm going to have to do them on a first come/first served/first paid basis...

I don't want anyone to thing I'm running some type of scam here by asking for money up front, but I'll have a lot of time invested in these (not to mention the emblems, paint, etc.) and if someone changes their mind after I've done all that work... well I can't afford to get stuck with custom color emblems that I'll have a hard time getting rid of.

A bunch of you want to send your emblems for me to mod & that's cool. I'd prefer to mod emblems that are 4.5" & 4.75" wide right now, as I have a couple of extras in those sizes. If your emblem should break during the removal process, I can replace it with one of my extras immediately.
I'll do my best, but I never know exactly how they will come apart until I begin.
I've also noticed that Older emblems tend to come apart easier than Newer emblems. I guess the adhesive dries out or wears out over the years.
There's ABSOLUTELY NO TELLING if the OEM chrome Ford & Oval will stay in place when they're taken apart.

If you want to send your emblems, please test them to see if they're the "Gel" type. If you press your thumbnail hard on the clear plastic & it leaves a mark, it's the "Gel" type. I HAVE NOT modded this type & I DO NOT currently have the epoxy needed to refill them afterwards. I'll try to get some of the "Gel" type to practice on, but in the meantime I'm sticking with the hard plastic type.
Sorry for any inconvenience.

I'll consider doing other sizes, but please note that I don't have any extras of other sizes in case something goes terribly wrong & I happen to break an emblem in the process. I'd feel terrible if I broke your only emblem or even a good emblem & I couldn't replace it. If it looks like I won't be able to mod your larger emblem(s) I'll let you know.

The emblems I have will either have 2 large posts with 1 small post or 3 small posts. If you need foam tape applied, just let me know.

When sending your emblems, please include a note with your RF username, color scheme & of course, return address.

Forgive me if my PM inbox here gets full, if your message gets bounced, post a quick message here to contact you & I'll get back with you as soon as I'm able to empty my PM folders.
PM me on where to send your emblems.

I'm going to begin working on the custom emblems within about a week, so please be patient as each one takes between 10 & 20 hours over several days to complete... and I have a few other jobs I'm working on right now too.

So far, every emblem I have is spoken for but I'm looking for more.

Thanks for all the interest so far!

Terry,
I'll try to remember to measure my 06+ grille emblem tonight. I know the 04-05 grille emblem is a different size than 06+. I was hoping to just reuse my original 04 emblem when I did the grille swap but Ford surprised me. $35 later I had the right one on my truck.

You do realize there are holes in the tailgate for the Ford Emblem correct? You have black though so it may not look too bad on yours. I covered my holes up with a Sport Trac 4x4 emblem.

I'm pretty sure there are at least 2 maybe 3 holes in the tailgates behind the emblems, but I'm not 100% sure... I haven't had time to take mine off yet.

I have emblems with 2 large + 1 small post and 3 small posts, although the posts can easily be cut off & I can cover the entire back with foam tape so you could put them pretty much anywhere you want...
You could be the first person with Ford ovals on your fenders, or how about a tailgate with 6 different colored Ford ovals?

I should be able to. I'm working on two right now that are 4.5" wide & they're likely from a tailgate or trunk.

When you get a chance, measure your emblems overall width & let me know.
Also, you might try the thumbnail test to make sure they're the hard plastic & not the softer gel type.

Right now I have a couple emblems that are 4.5" and 4.75" wide that I can mod & I have a few more 4.75" wide emblems on the way.
For some reason, I'm having trouble finding anything larger than 4.75" or 5" wide, (or finding them at a reasonable price... no way in heck I'm paying Ford $40 for an emblem)

If something goes wrong with someone's emblem that's one of the sizes I have, I can replace them with one of mine & everything should be ok. However, if I break someone's emblem that's a different size than I have, we're sunk.
