Never seize for your engine

While reading another thread about oil pan troubles,it reminded me of a locked up engine I had on an old generator. My new unit has a Murphy switch in the crankcase to prevent it from running to low on oil.Now I've heard of some people tearing holes in their pan while offroading, and spouses who , shall we say, need reminding to check their oil.
Murphy switch - oil = no engine guts welded together.
Hows my math?

Not bad, but how sensitive is it to angle and shock? Offroading is pretty hard on stuff like that.

Generally speaking, you know as soon as you bust the pan as the smoke comes pouring up from under the truck, lol...

"Murphy switch"...Murphy's law, lol?

I've heard from some tree cutter friends of mine they have them in some logging equipment.I'll have to ask if they came that way from the manufacturer or put in themselves.I'm thinking (I know, dangerous sometimes) if one had a pan out of the truck filled with ,I don't know, 2-3 quarts of oil, and measured the pan for the right switch position ,so it didn't kick off prematurely , it just might work for offroad. On the street I don't see much of a problem.
Who wants to be the guinea pig?
As for Murphy's Law , I have to deal with that ***** every day!

Ha ha! Well, I'm not experimenting with that. I don't need my engine to cut out when I slam into a waterhole or jump the truck, lol...

absolute NOT. you want to make it through the mud hole although some on this board might enjoy dabbling in the mud hole, john on the other hand would not.

usually the swich works off oil pressure.. and when it gets below 15psi it killes the engine...

so offroading, bumping around and extreme angle will not affect it
