Beard Sliders or Brush Guard?

Hey guys. My tires and wheels should be here this week so now I'm looking for my next idea.

I had always planned on getting a brush guard to go with the black scheme of my truck (black wheels, etc) But after seeing quite a few people put sliders on their truck I'm no sure what I'd rather have.

Vote!

and opinions of course.

brush guards are pretty useless anyway. they're horribly weak.

My truck. Except imagine it without the vinyl striping, black wheels and BFG A/Ts, and black fenders, etc.

Are the sliders fairly easy to weld to the frame?

Sliders. They won't hide that beautiful front end.

Sliders and then send me your side steps.

Don't get a brush guard. Get a custom front bumper before you get a brush guard.

Well of course I'd love to get a custom front bumper/tube bumper.

But I have no idea where I'd get one..as I'm not really capable of making my own.

Call around to a couple of welding shops and see if they would do it for you. I'd go with a lift before sliders if I were you.

i agree, make sure its got the BL before if that is the route you are going. because you dont want to cut and reweld them on twice.

THey are not too bad to weld. You have a mig welder? Are you experienced with it?

YOu really just weld a plate on then the tube to the plate.

They don't make an ARB bumper for the Ranger. Trigger modded a Tacoma one to fit.

I bet if he had a custom bumper made, it would be close to $800-1200, depending on what all it has done to it. Not bad, IMO.

Yeah I do have a mig welder so I should be able to do that..Doesn't sound too bad. However I don't think I'm going to lift my truck so I'm not really sure if sliders would be smart then.

Yeah I figured a custom one would be extremely pricey. Considering I'm in High school I can't really afford to fork out more than $400 for either a bumper or sliders.

If you want a bumper call this guy, Mike at custom4x4fabrication.com, he will let you pay half up front and then the rest when he gets it finished 4 to 6 weeks later. I paid around $500 for my bumper from him, the bumper is cheaper than buying a Warn set-up and pretty close to what your going to pay for a grill/brush guard that does nothing. A member was talking to me about my bumper and he just ordered one and it cost him $560, I'm not going to say what member on the forum, dont want to ruin anything for him, but hit me up with a PM if you want his name to find anything out from him.

From what I understand he makes brackets for it now, so it is a bolt on. BUT if you are body lifted you still have to make your own brackets. I may be wrong about him making brackets for it, I thought the member I was talking about earlier said he was making brackets for it now though.

For the price he charges for the bumper you cant beat it, and the fact that he has and is willing to work with us(Ranger community) to offer us something no one else provides us makes me more more than happy to pimp his product to anyone interested...lol

On his site he has a section listed for Ford Rangers, but once in that section all it has is the two pictures of Rangers with the bumper on.

Should I just email him and ask him about the bumper or?
