Extra led brake/turn/reverse/running lights/ and now under door lights

This is something I've been doing lately, it is extremely cheap and takes no time at all (once you get the hang of it). I added extra lights all over my truck. The white lights on the rear lights are reverse the lights under the tailgate are both brake and turn, the lights on the bumper are running, the lights on third brake light are brake, the long white light on front is running, and the two on either side of the front are turning.

(Here is videos of the lights)

While not my cup of coffee, it looks to me like it was done properly. Though, I ask, did you use T-Taps, some sort of crimp connector, or solder with heatshrink or electrical tape?

Also, if you want another good source of LEDs, go to superbrightleds.com. They sell everything LED; or real close to it.

If you want your connections to last, the only way to do it right is with solder. Crimp connections will never last as long as solder flown onto copper. Just nature of the beast; not a whole lot you can do about it.

You can, however, strip the plastic off the crimps and flow solder between it and the wire, and I've done that a few times myself.

I disagree... it definitely looks like it was done by an amateur. Lights aren't straight, they're the crap kind (you can see LED's that aren't lit), and you used the stick on strips that will fall off pretty soon...

...but then again, it's your truck. If you like it, it doesn't matter what I think.

I have yet to see an LED strip that doesn't have an adhesive backing. Every type of adhesive will fail eventually, cheap or expensive. The only way to get around that is to use a bolt on housing instead.

And aside from the dead zone underneath the right side of the rear bumper pad, I don't see any LEDs that aren't lit.

As far as them not being straight, the only area I see that is obviously misaligned is under the tailgate.

Is his work perfect? No, it isn't; there are some areas to polish for sure. However, that being said, nobody's work is perfect.

The idea here has potential, it just needs to be worked on and sketched out a few times.

How long it lasts depends on three main factors. The quality of the products used, the methods of attaching/connecting the strips (both electrical and mechanical) and what they're exposed to.
