not to be an @ss but you might want to research it alot heavier then r-f if your serious about building the truck. some guys here run and have ba trucks, but most have no clue and will just tell you to go buy a raptor.

whats your budget.

how fast do you want to go.

how high do you want to fly.

gonna need new beams, coilovers, engine cage, roll cage, bed cage, shackle flip, shackles, deavers, 14" shocks, wheels, tires, and glass. theres more but thats a very basic start.

hahaha no. lots of guys guild up there 2.3L limas. turbo them and they are the bomb.

@OP- Do lots of research, search the forums (all of them, not just R-F), lurk, learn. Do everything in your head twice and then do it in real life once. Redoing things sucks. And spending money on stuff and having to replace it again also sucks.

Case in point, do not put a limited slip into your current axle (Ford 7.5 inch toothpick axle), because when you lift you will need a bigger, stronger axle for the larger tires (Ford 8.8 beefy axle). You can then get a 8.8 Ranger (28-spline axle shafts) or 8.8 Expo (31-spline axle shafts) with L/S already installed for around $100-$300 and put the whole thing not and never even have to open up the pumpkin. As far as lift rear lift is a piece of cake. Blocks and u-bolts done. Front on your twin i-beams is also easy. You need 4 inch skyjacker coil springs. I found a pair used on craigslist a month ago for $100.

Ya i've been on couple of diffrent sites lookin at all of my options. I alreay had plans on getting a 8.8 from the local salvage yard and if im going open up the rearend im might as well put a torsion(sp) in it. I'm thinking either a set of deavers or somthing comparble to lift it. I'll probably use a block to get buy in the begining to get by. I'm try to decide between either 4.10 or the ratio up i think it is 4.56. oh boy ima be saving all winter lol... any one know what the engine swap laws for ny are if i decide to put a 4.0l in it down the road.?

I would imagine you'd just have to have it inspected.

wouldnt it be a smarter use of money to save the 4 grand, and trade off the 2wd, for a 4x4.

take 2000 buy a nice quad or dirt bike, haul it in your truck. then when you brake something, you can still make it home for supper.

bingo. that's what i am doing. minus the BL of course. you can run 33s comfortably with just a spindle lift.

woah woah woah wait a sec. never mind about spindle lift. you are a pre-98 so you run twin i-beam. you have to do a coil lift. dang it aaron. you almost made me agree with some misinformation.
