Rally Ranger....

Ok maybe this doesnt belong in new ideas, but im not sure ive seen anything like it on the site yet.

Ive thought about buying a second Ranger after my 09 is paid off. I want another toy to play with. Ive been known to frequently get the itch to build a car, and well, another Ranger has always been a possibility for a build.

There was another thread with a slammed rat rod style Ranger here that was awesome. I loved how it looked, and thought about doing something like that. I still might, but another thought hit me today that i might like even more.

How about a rally car style Ranger? Id love to take a 4x4 Ranger, lower it a touch and still get a tall tire under there. Im talking like a 29-31 inch All Terrain or something similar. I know theres an awesome lowered 4x4 on here (sorry dude, i forgot your SN, but the yellow truck) but id still want something that can go offroad and play in the dirt, yet still take a corner without tipping over. Its NOT supposed to be a rock crawler, but has anyone seen a Ranger built like that? Maybe im a goon, but i think it would be perfect for ****s and giggle style hoonage. If they run Porsche 911s in the dirt and haul *** around corners, why not a truck built for the same style of runs? (Pikes Peak would be SICK in something like that)

Thoughts? Interesting? Waste of time?

I like it! As I've said before, do the Explorer AWD T-case conversion, drop it, boost it, and have a blast!

Now i gotta wait for tax return time.... a regular cab 4x4 with a 4.0L would be ideal. It would HAVE to be a manual trans too. I can live with a 3.0L but a stick is a MUST.

Not sure on the years. 98+ i guess. I think an 01-03 would be pretty slick with the powerdome hood and general square front end would look better.

love the idea make sure it has an a-arm suspension easier to keep low but widen for stability plus get good wheel travel and put an old little tbird turbo motor in it they are light and have power you wont want the weight in the front end that a 4.0 has i would go older body like 96ish when they switched from i-beam front suspension
