If its -45 I would be more worried about the oil in the pan turning into a bowl of jello than getting the frost/ice off my windows. Just get some washer fluid with de-icer in it and call it a day. I prefer Rain-X De-icer fluid myself. Gets rid of ice fast, and adds a layer of rain-X to your windsheild every time you use the washer.
