I'm looking at buying some amber light paint, I'm gonna paint my fog lights amber to look sim. to DRLs... I've never seen this on a ranger, so I thought why not...

so... good or bad? lemme know

here is the paint, its like nite shade but orange...

 

just get amber bulbs?

thats what I'm gonna do, paint the bulbs...no one sells amber 9145 lights...

 

they sell yellow color bulbs on suv lights, my dad(04 EDGE) has em in his truck.
if you paint the bulb, my guess is its going to get hot and chip off.

Yes mine aren't amber, but yellow's similar. i used paint for glass. if you don't like it, just acetone it off. Have fun getting your fog lenses out! And also have fun putting them back in without scratching them.

 

eh I can do it, I just hope it looks orange... not dark yellow... can of paint is 29 bucks

what kind of headlights you running?

 

Stock headlights. I wouldn't want amber because they will throw out less light than yellow. THe only things that are different about my truck is when i got rear ended, i had them NOT throw on the sport stickers. (Anybody want RED sport stickers?) So basically we have the same truck except for tires and I have pulleys on mine. It should so be your next mod. I have a Taurus fan sitting in my garage but i need a controller for it. I got 330 miles on my last tank :-p Now i'm just throwing in 20 bucks whenever I have it. Get better mpg that way. Future plans: headlight mod? You mean... so you can have the brights on and the fogs on at the same time? That took me ten minutes with a soldering iron and i LOVED the results. You know how when you switch on your brights the path right in front of you isn't lit up as much? I drive down this dark road with no lights on it and the last thing i want to do is hit a mountain lion that decided to run right into that unlit path.

 

the headlight mod, I mean baking the lights and painting them black... and I'm actually about to go do the fog light hi/low mod... I meant like what kinda headlights you were running with the fogs, cause like blue lights would look good with orange... I'm currently running silverstars...and yeah I also removed those stickers...they need a better selection IMO

 

whew, just did the blinker mod... and that it so freaking cool, but its a mod I'll never see b/c I'm drivin... but it looks neat...

 

Meh. I think no stickers at all look better. I despise the football ford logo but meh- too lazy to buy a mazda / older ford tailgate.

Baking the lights not my thing. i have stock bulbs too. I hate anything brighter than stock. Maybe i should get brighter lights just to **** off other motorists. lol...

 

You wantit to look like a taco, dont ya? I LOVE the way tacos look when they have their drls on. I think ALL GM products now have DRLs/Autolamps. They look so sweet with amber. I spent my own money on my company rig and took out the white drls and replace them with ambers in the '05 duramax....love it. DO IT!

 

k so whats the blinker mod i can't find it in the how to section.
