Hot tub trailer Idea

You run the pump with the propane.
There is no way a ranger is going to be towing such a trailer with water in it. A tandem axle trailer loaded with an empty hot tub and otherwise is pushing it. A cubic meter of water alone weighs around 2200lbs.

Ya, your right... the water aspect (heating it, chemicals, dumping and filling) could get really costly. I still think it be sweet.
For the majority of the time it will be sitting in the parking lot of my apartment, so i will not be moving it all the time.
Also, thanks to dixie_boysles for the architecture! Greatly appreciated.

I know some hot tube have a 110/220-volt option and there are some out there that can even run off a 15amp outlet, but it would probably take for ever to heat up. On the weight not sure on the size and what type your looking at but I know you can get ones with a full weight around ~3000lbs that would be around a 300 gallon hot tub.

Ya, when i was researching hot tubs i saw that some have that option is 110/220 volt or even 15 amps... but yes, it does take a lot longer to heat up!
Dixie_boysles, if you want feel free to go more indepth on the plan, lol, but if you cant, thats cool too. Thanks again for all the help so far.
Im thinking of another option as well; Possibly getting a 18 foot trailer and having the hot tub over both axles and then in the rear have a place for the hot tub cover to slide back into. That way i can keep the same floor plan up front and the hot tub sits over the axles.
The size tubs that are most common are ones that are 6 person tubs and are about 7'x7'. I will probably have to expand the enclosure of the trailer to be on top of the wheel wells, but that should not be a huge issue.... but as far as my truck goes, i will HAVE to pull this with NO water. Otherwise my little ranger would die, lol.
I just replaced the trans... id rather not do it again.

Ill be messing around in AutoCAD 2005 later tonight and photoshop. Ill try and make a photoshop version of this.
But thats to everyone else as well!!
Im pretty sure that i will start this within the month... i just need a trailer as a base to start. Then ill have to move this forum over to the Project logs!

a way to heat it up a bit quicker every time is to fill it up about 3/4 from the hose or whatever then as its heating that up get a big 5 gal pot and boil water in that to transfer. keep doing that till its all the way full. not sure how much quicker it would heat it but i bet it would make a few hour difference.

ya, im thinkin propane is the way to go. might put a generater in it as well/instead. Open for options at this point.
That will suck, filling it up everytime.
How would i go about heating it with propane? pretty sure i would still need a pump for the jets and to circulate the water.
just lookin for options here.
Thanks again to everyone
Later on tonight i shouls have a photoshop verson of what im going for... hopefully.
Here is a link to a generator from Honda... looks like it would power everything nicely and not go through a ton of gas.

... just wish it was a little cheaper
Could always plug in an extention cord for this when the option is avialible... but there again how many places have a 30amp plug-in available, lol

Here's what you need
Bosch AquaStar at Lowe's: 4.3-GPM Liquid Propane Gas Tankless Water Heater
Runs off LP gas and uses no electricity.
You could plumb this in to recirculate after the tub is full and shouldn't take long to heat things up.
Just over 2 ft high and 16.x inches wide.

SWEETNESS!!
Thanks OTRtech! that tankless propane water heater would work awesome! If i could come up with a way to hook the water into that directly as i am filling it up, the water would be hoter quicker; technically it should be hot after it goes through this, and then i just need to figure out the pump situation, but i may just grab a camper pump.
This idea is sounding sweet! Now just give me a month or so to work the funds up to be able to purchase a trailer... might want to do some actuall hard core designing to see if a 16foot trailer will do it or if i do need an 18foot, so as to set the tub more on the axles... with the remaining extra space on the back, i could make a spot for a hot tub cover to go :) or other storage.
