Exhaust design

I was glancing through my summit catalog last evening and I was struck by a thought and I wanted to see if any of you all had tried this yet. I know I've seen some pics on here for exhaust that exits before the rear tire like a lightning. I was thinking that I could do this out of just off the shelf parts. I was looking into using a SI/DO Flowmaster muffler and a couple of mandrel bends out of the catalog. Or you all that have done this had the bends done custom.. Either way I really like the look and would like to get it done. Just curious...

Here is my Bassani cat back. Complete kit that bolts right up, kinda expensive but I love it. You could do the Flowmaster fairly easily, I know that quite a few others here have done that very thing.

this is how i've been thinking of doing mine. I just want a single pipe though.
Why are the kits alot more then a full system[to the rear]? it's less tubing.
If you do it, be sure top post pics, specs, and definately a audio file.

The set up I got is all stainless steel which is more expensive than the aluminized.

I got my flows lightning style for $170, I think Christian's was like $125.. they work pretty cheap down here. We don't hafta worry about salt though, and aluminized is wayy cheaper than stainless.. call some muffler shops and get some quotes.

I was thinking about doing this mod myself... That is out of parts and pieces that you can buy through a catalog or just pick up at a parts store... I have all the tools that I would need except for a mandrel tubing bender. Thats where I need a little input on what exactly to use. Everything else with what I have in mind shouldn't pose too much of an issue....
